Vergil Ortiz-Michael McKinson: LIVE Results From Fort Worth, Texas

Figo Ramirez enjoyed a successful U.S. debut in a four-round, unanimous decision win over Francisco Bonilla (6-14-3, 3KOs). All three judges scored the contest 39-36 in favor of Dallas’ Ramirez (2-0, 1KOs), a stablemate of Vergil Ortiz Jr. (18-0, 18KOs) who faces England’s Michael McKinson (22-0, 2KOs) in the DAZN main event Saturday evening at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.

The bout was vastly different from Ramirez’s pro debut in April, when he scored a first-round knockout on a club show in Mazatlan, Mexico. The 19-year-old Dallas native kept it local for his first stateside fight, showing poise even after losing a point midway through round two for excessive low blows.

Ramirez continued to target the body, both with left hooks and looping right hands downstairs. Bonilla landed a compact right uppercut near the end of round three, with Ramirez taking the shot well and controlling the action down the stretch to preserve his unbeaten mark.

Dominican Republic’s Rohan Polanco opened the nine-fight show with a second-round knockout of Dedrick Bell (31-33-1, 17KOs) in their welterweight contest.

Polanco found a sweet spot with his left hook to the body, which had Bell hurt early and often. The 65-fight veteran from Memphis was briefly stunned by the shot early in round two, acting as if he was going to take a knee though Polanco wisely didn’t take the bait. The 23-year-old prospect continued to target Bell’s midsection, ending the fight with a digging left hook downstairs to floor Bell and produce a full ten count at 2:43 of round two.
