Dalton “Thunder” Smith KO’s Sam “The Sensation” O’maison!

By Ken Hissner: At Sheffield Arena on Saturday over DAZN Eddie Hearn (Matchroom Boxing) presented in the Main Event Dalton “Thunder” Smith knocked out Sam “The Sensation” O’maison, scoring three knockdowns for the vacant Super Lightweight title in the sixth round.

In the Main Event Dalton “Thunder” Smith, 12-0 (10), #139, of Sheffield, Yorkshire, UK, knocked out Sam “The Sensation” O’maison, 17-4-1 (7), #139, of Sheffield, Yorkshire, UK, at 2:55 of the sixth of a scheduled 10 rounds, for the vacant British Super Lightweight title.

In the third round, a right followed by a left from Smith on the chin of O’maison, and down he went taking the 8-count. He managed to make a fight of it to the bell as Smith let him off the hook. In the sixth round Smith scored two knockdowns forcing referee Marcus McDonnell to end the fight.

In the co-feature, Jordan “Troublesome” Thompson, 14-0 (11), #198, of Manchester, UK, defeated Vasil Ducar, 11-6-1 (10), #197, of Brno, of Czech Republic, for the vacant IBF Cruiserweight title, over ten dull rounds.

In the first three rounds, Ducar came forward with “Troublesome” countering. At the end of the third, Ducar stood yelling for some action! In the next three rounds, it was more of the same, with Ducar walking into jabs. From the seventh through the ninth, Ducar made a fight of it, winning several rounds.

In the eighth and ninth rounds, the edge went to “Troublesome” In the tenth and final round, “Troublesome” did enough to take the round and the fight.

Scores were 97-92 and 96-93, twice as was this writer.

Super Welterweight Kieron Conway, 18-2-1 (4), #167, of Northampton, UK, knocked out Aro Schwartz, 19-6-1 (13), #166, of Karlsruhe, Baden-Wurttemberg, GER, at 2:22 of the fifth round of a scheduled 8 rounds.
In the fifth round, a right from Conway and down went Schwartz for the count.

Super Bantamweight southpaw Hope “Drago” Price, 8-0 (3), #125, of Leeds, UK, defeated Alexander Mejia, 18-4 (7), #124, of Managua, NIC, over eight rounds.

Scores were 80-72.

Super Lightweight Sandy Ryan, 4-1 (2), #139, of Derby, Derbyshire, UK, avenged a loss by defeating Erica “La Pantera” Anabella Farias, 27-6 (10), #138, of Escobar, Bueno Aires, ARG, over ten rounds.

In the first five rounds, Ryan had her way while Farias was forcing the action. In the eighth, Farias was doing more faking than fighting. In the tenth and final round, Ryan continued getting the better of Farias.
Scores 98-92 and 96-94 twice, as did this writer. Referee Howard Foster.
Heavyweight Johnny “The Romford Bull” Fisher, 6-0 (5), #241, of Romford, UK, knocked out Michal Reissinger, 3-2 (2), #249, of Kozomin, Czech Republic, at 0:39 of the second round of a scheduled six rounds.

In the second round, a right from Fisher and down went Reissinger for the count.
