Jermell Charlo Calls Out Canelo: “That B!tch Can’t Beat Me”

To a large extent, Jermall Charlo has been linked to Canelo Alvarez for a number of years. But while the truculent Houstonian has continued to push for a showdown vs. the pound-for-pound star, Jermell Charlo (35-1-1, 19 KOs), his identical twin brother, has now thrown his name into the mix.

“Why they don’t make Canelo fight undisputed?” Questioned Charlo during a session on Instagram Live. “Undisputed vs. undisputed. I’ll gain a little weight.”

As Jermell alludes to, he’s proud of his recent undisputed run. Following explosive wins over Tony Harrison, Jeison Rosario, and Brian Castano – Jermell successfully held every major world title at 154 pounds. Similarly, Alvarez (59-2-2, 39 KOs) has pulled off the exact same feat just a few pounds north.

Ultimately, despite holding all four world titles in the super middleweight division, Alvarez grew bored of his undisputed throne. So, on a whim, the now 32-year-old abandoned his royal seat and made the trek to the light heavyweight division to take on Dmitry Bivol.

Bravery aside, the Mexican native would go on to lose a close but clear unanimous decision before scurrying back to his more natural weight class. Still, in spite of his return, Alvarez, at least according to Jermell, hasn’t quite looked like himself.

After seeing his latest trip to the ring, Jermell doubled down.

This past weekend, in a homecoming bout against John Ryder, Alvarez, at times, fought listlessly. The end result, while unsurprising, didn’t exactly strike fear into the heart of Jermell.

Of course, both Jermell and Alvarez are miles apart in terms of weight. Nevertheless, considering Alvarez’s current form, Jermell isn’t worried about the noticeable size difference he would be giving up come fight night.

“That b!tch can’t beat me with that sh!tty last performance,” continued an amped-up Jermell. “That b!tch can’t beat me.”
