Two of Top Rank’s recent prospect pickups are set for quick turnarounds. Amateur heavyweight standout Jared Anderson and welterweight youngster Xander Zayas, both of whom scored first-round knockouts in their pro debuts this past weekend, will return to action on November 30th as part of the Oscar Valdez-Andres Gutierrez undercard.
TBA has both assignments at the moment, so maybe we’ll finally get to see this mysterious man in the ring.
Anderson (1-0, 1 KO) was America’s #1-ranked amateur heavyweight and looked like a guaranteed member of Team USA in the 2020 games, but decided to try his hands at the pro ranks instead. He needed just 54 seconds to put away Daniel Infante, who’d previously fallen to Sonny Conto, with a body shot last Saturday.
Now 17 years old, Zayas (1-0, 1 KO) enjoyed more than 130 amateur bouts and a whole heap of titles in Puerto Rico and nationally. He took slightly longer than Anderson to claim victory in his own pro debut.
The card also features Carl Frampton vs. Tyler McCreary in a catchweight bout and rising super lightweight Arnold Barboza Jr. against victim-to-the-stars William Silva.
